Above: The Methody Worldwide Council Members at the Inaugural Meeting Dear Past Pupils May I say at the outset that I regard it as an enormous privilege to be the inaugural President of Methody Worldwide. This new association is an idea whose time has clearly come. It presents an historic opportunity to create a worldwide association of equals bound together only by our common attendance at MCB. No longer should our school be seen in the context of a narrow regional entity but rather we will now see it as a launching pad for enduring and lifelong international association and influence throughout the globe. Currently MCB, under the inspired leadership of Wilfred Mulryne, enjoys a reputation of great distinction throughout the UK. Few schools produce such outstanding alumni whose talents stretch right across the world. The moment has now arrived when we can open up opportunities for MCB pupils, past and present, to renew friendships and forge new contacts globally in a spirit of mutual friendship and shared experiences for the benefit of all concerned. Together we can lift the benefit of attendance at this school to a wholly new level. It is my hope and it will be my earnest endeavour in the forthcoming months of my Presidency to make contact with as many of you as possible to forge these new links which I am sure will strengthen and multiply as the years go on. If this concept is to work, it will require a joint effort worldwide. The possibilities it may open up are legion not only for us but also for generations ahead of Methody pupils. We owe it to them to make it work. I look forward to contacting you all in the very near future. John Gillen
