CURRICULUM AQA GCSE Drama 60% Coursework. Internally assessed and moderated by AQA Assessment based on the following three parts: Response to plays and other types of drama 10% Work in progress 20% Final presentation 30% externally moderated Written Paper 40% 2hours Response to live theatre productions seen during the course of the year. EDEXCEL AS DRAMA Unit One Exploration of TWO plays 15% Internally assessed/externally moderated coursework. Unit Two Text In Performance One 20% Externally assessed practical Unit 3 Text In Context One 15% Externally assessed 2 hour written paper A2 Unit 4 20% Internally/Externally assessed Unit 5 Text in Performance Two 15% Externally assessed Unit 6 2 and ½hour written paper FACILITIES AND RESOURCES We have a fully operational Drama Studio for both rehearsal and public performance. EDUCATIONAL TRIPS AND EXCHANGES For our sixth year students there is an annual theatre trip to London. They see two West End plays and are taken on a tour of the Globe Theatre as part of their study of Jacobean Theatre. GCSE pupils are taken to professional theatre productions every year. EXTRACURRICULAR Each year, the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools all put on a different production in the Whitla Hall. For more details please see the Drama section of the College Activities page. |
