Congratulations to the 1st XV on taking Methody through to another St Patrick's Day Final at Ravenhill! The win in the Schools' Cup semi-final came after a hard fought match against Ballymena Academy. In the first half Ballymena were the stronger team; they took their chances and the result saw MCB going into half time down 14-6 . After some half-time rallying of the troops by N. Wells and C. Martin, Methody came out strong and scored much needed points taking them to a 6 point lead. The ending was a cliff-hanger, with Ballymena scoring a try but missing a conversion in the dying minutes of the game that led to Methody winning the match 23-22. The final of the 2008 Schools' Cup will be played at Ravenhill on Monday 17th March. Methody will play the winner of tomorrow's semi-final, which sees Regent House and Ballyclare High School fight it out for a place in the final. Congratulations again to the MCB 1st XV Squad, Mr N.Wells and Mr C. Martin, and a BIG thank you to all pupils, staff, parents and friends of the College who came along to show their support. See you at Ravenhill on St Patrick's Day!
